Jam Biscuits

  • Jam Biscuits

Ingredients

200g butter, softened
1/4 cup Chelsea Icing Sugar
1 3/4 cup plain flour
1/4 cup custard powder
1/4 cup jam, homemade is optional

Method

Preheat oven to 170°C and grease or line a tray with baking paper.

Mix butter with icing sugar until smooth. Add remaining dry ingredients and mix thoroughly.

Roll heaped teaspoon sized balls of dough and place on tray. Use the handle end of a wooden spoon to press into centre of ball, stopping before it touches the bottom.
Fill centre with jam of your choice or use the recipe below. Bake for 15 - 20 minutes until pale golden.

Makes: approx. 20 biscuits

    also nice if you add a few drops of almond essence to dough, using raspberry jam.....a recipe my aunty used when we were little..

    My kids love these biscuits they are great when I don't have any eggs. I also change the custard powder for cocoa and the jam for a white choc button. Just as yummy :)

    Try adding 1tsp cinnamon & 1/2 tsp mixed spice with raspberry jam - like a Belgium biscuit - yum!
