3 Tablespoons Chelsea Golden Syrup
60g Butter
1 Tablespoon Preserved Ginger, chopped into small pieces
1/2 Teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
2 Cups Cornflakes
824g Can Pie Apples
1 : Preheat oven to 180oC.
2 : Combine Chelsea Golden Syrup, butter, preserved ginger and ground nutmeg in a saucepan, bring to the boil, stirring. Reduce heat and simmer for 1 minute.
3 : Remove pan from heat, add cornflakes and stir until cornflakes are well coated with syrup.
4 : Place the pie apples in a buttered pie dish, place the cornflake mixture on top and press down to make a crust.
5 : Bake in a moderate oven (180oC) for 6 minutes or until top is crisp and golden brown.
Serve warm with cream or custard.
