2 cups Edmonds Standard Grade Flour (300g)
4 tsp Edmonds Baking Powder
1⁄2 teaspoon salt
1⁄4 cup Chelsea White Sugar (56g)
2 eggs, separated
2 cups Meadow Fresh Original Milk (500ml)
1⁄2 cup Olivani Pure Olive Oil or any neutral oil (125ml)
Fresh fruit, cream and Chelsea Maple or Honey Maple Flavoured Syrup, to serve
Sift the flour, baking powder, salt and Chelsea White Sugar together into a large bowl. Stir to combine.
Place the egg whites in a small bowl and beat until stiff.
In a jug, whisk together the egg yolks, milk and oil. Add to dry ingredients and whisk briefly until just smooth. Fold in the beaten egg whites.
Heat a waffle iron and cook waffles until golden brown. Serve warm with fresh fruit, cream and Chelsea Maple or Honey Maple Flavoured Syrup.
New wafflemaker. Their recipe was yuck! But this recipe is amazing. We don't use olive oil, so used rice bran oil - worked a treat. Next time I'm going to out a smidge more sugar and a drop of vanilla essence. Made 12 waffles.
As per other reviews wish I'd wished I'd read beforehand, this recipe unfortunately stuck to the waffle maker and also had an eggy aftertaste.
Made half portions with half of the ingredients (I used canola oil instead). It was a success and kids loved them. Definitely a recipe to keep.
The best recipe that i have found! Easy and great with olive oil. Does not stick to pan, especially when you spray oil first.
My dad and I make really yummy pancakes and waffles I had it at my friends house then a couple of days later My mum went and brought one that is why I give it a 5 stars they are nice and fluffy I would recommend them thank you for expring me CHELSEA
When i made it i put in 2 cups of milk and it was way to much milk, i tried to pour the milk out but all of it turned into milk and then turned into liquid
Highly recommended. Light and fluffy.
Easy to follow recipe too. Will be using this as my go to waffle recipe
Turned out great! Light, fluffy.
Used butter instead of olive oil.
Possibly a little on the sweet side.
Really really good waffles it was my first time making them and I found them really fun and delicious!!!!!!
i looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove it! It tasted sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good!
It was really fun to make with my dad. We made it with the waffle maker I got for my birthday and they turned out really good! Would recommend
I frequently choose waffles at cafe's. For my first attempt to make my own I used the CHELSEA web receipe.
Perfect, and next day left overs reheated crispy in the toaster.
First time I've made waffles and they turned out great. Light and fluffy delicious. I did notice they taste slightly eggie, possibly something I did, not sure. Will make them again and add a bit more sweetness to the batch I think
Always come out perfect, love to have them on a cold Saturday morning I always add chocolate chips to the recipe.
Very yummy but the first one we made got stuck to the top and the bottom
we greased it with oil and then we had no problems Bice and fluffy though.
very yummy its really nice with strawberries and chocolate sauce
nice and fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside!
The waffles were amazingly delicious! The waffles were moist and fluffy! I found the recipe very easy and I am only 12 and I am looking forward to making another batch!

I make them for my family every Sunday, and thier always satisfied with the yummyness.
And I'm only 10 and they are so easy.
Thanl you!!
mhhhhh so good and easy defiantly make again. awesome to freeze i recommend to add chocolate chips to add more flavor. 10 out of 10
Such a well put together recipe! They don't spread/as well as other recipes but that's fine because I only use half a recipe for two people and that made 5-6 waffles! Lovely with cinnamon sugar, butter, maple syrup and bacon.
this recipe was SO salty and all the batter stuck to the waffle maker.
I don't recommend this recipe!
This is the best waffle recipe ever. Always a show stopper when visitors arrive. Fave flavour? It has has to be Banoffee Waffles second to Banana Maple Syrup and Vanilla ice cream cream
We've made them three times. Turned out great each time. No sticking issues when making them slightly crispy.
These waffles were delicious, yum and very scrumptious. I can't wait to make them again. Will be eaten and made again.
It was very good we dyed our waffles pink. I've had many belgian waffles at 5 star hotels and these are great for at home and are quick and easy
I thought the batter was too thick I stuck to the ingredient measurements but was not so impressed with this recipe.
Wonderfully easy and turned out well. One thing I’d change is the olive oil. I’d use a less strongly flavoured oil like avocado or grape seed. Apart from that, light and crisp and didn’t stick to the pan at all.
It stiked to the waffle maker and I spent about and hour trying to get the waffle off definitely wasted my time and money going down to the shops to get ingredients and it didn't even taste good I have done lots of bad waffle recipes but this one I just won't even think about doing it ever again I'm not sure if I did something wrong because alot of the reviews said it was good but I personally don't think It is worth trying
I'm not a baker and usually don't have much success, but this is great! I've made them several times and they've turned out well each time. Haven't had any issues with sticking to the waffle maker as some reviewers have mentioned ... so this is my 'go to' recipe for waffles!
Perfect and was able to just substitute for gluten free flour and a dairy free milk. Awesome Sunday breakfast treat.
It was an awesome recipe that was super easy to make and was very tasty. I’m 12 and made it with my friend, we nailed it. It left a little bit of a eggy after taste though. I would still definitely recommend it.
i'm only a kid and i'm using my dads waffle machine this so good and so easy and I don't eat much :) :D
Excellent easy recipe. We make ours in our toastie maker as we don't have a Waffle Iron and they still work out great!
This is my go too waffle recipe.
This is a light fluffy recipe. Not stodgy like some can be or the store bought variety which was purchased for a weekend away.
I don’t use as much oil within the recipe as it states, I halve it, and spray a light oil spray between waffle making even though it’s a non stick waffle iron.
We love this recipe in our household. It's been our go to since we first found it which must have been at least a year ago!
Good recipe. Having never made waffles before and with a new waffle maker (Breville BWM250), had excellent results. Very tasty. I whipped the sugar in the egg whites to dissolve it. No idea if it made a difference though. I didn’t spray or butter the waffle maker and didn’t get any sticking.
Very disappointed in this recipe. I have a brand new, non stick waffle maker and without spraying oil in between each waffle, they stuck each time. I will not be using this recipe again.
I substituted the flour for Edmonds GF standard flour and it worked great. Very easy. I especially appreciate the concise recipe and instructions. Many online recipes tend to waffle on.
Like others I found this just stuck to machine and makes them split. These were not as fluffy and light as our usual recipe which uses butter instead. I’ll go back to that one.
This recipe sticks to the waffle maker. Terrible. Try butter instead of olive oil. Won't use this recipe again
Excellent recipe - I halved it and used rice bran oil instead of olive oil, and soy milk and they turned out fantastic. Not complicated at all.
Amazing. If you looked forever to find light and fluffy like MC Donald pancakes, then these waffles are honestly something else. The only thing is if you have a family of 5 or more you will need two or three more batches lol. The egg whites and oil make these something really special.
I didn't realise it said 'Serves 16!!!!!!!!' I was looking to serve only two people, too many waffles, but they turned out well.
This is a very good recipe for a Saturday breakfast. And it is easy for just beginner's like me
So I recommend this recipe for anyone, and it is delicious.
First time making waffles and loved the recipe. I changed the flour to a gluten free one and still worked a treat!
These waffles are like the last piece of my puzzle. They are delicious and fluffy and super easy to make! I'm most definitely going to use this recipe again.
A really lovely recipe , easy to prepare and the taste is lovely too. This is our family favourite and the only waffle recipe I use now.
I made these for the very first time today and they came out perfect. I even used a toasted sandwich maker!
Easy to make and turns out really well. I served with cooked apple and a chantilly cream, then added a drizzle of caramel sauce.....made my family happy :-)
My brother put me on to this recipe. Without a doubt the best waffle recipe I've used. Light and just delicious.
