Ingredients

    3 cups standard plain flour
    6 tsps baking powder
    ¼ tsp salt
    80g butter
1-1½ cups milk (depends on how wet or dry you want it but I think wetter the better and sticky is real good).
½tsp paprika (gives a nice smokey flavour)
    ½ chopped red onion
a few pinches of pepper (you can be generous to give it a bit of a kick)
    ½ red capsicum,diced
½ cup grated cheese, + a bit extra for topping

Method

Lightly dust oven tray with flour. Preheat oven to 220⁰C.
Sift flour, baking powder and salt into bowl.
Cut butter in until it resembles breadcrumbs.
Add milk and mix quickly with hands and fingers to a soft dough. Knead a few times, add in onions, capsicum, paprika, pepper and cheese last.
Then mix right through using your hands for best results.
Lightly press scone mixture out onto floured tray, cut into 12 pieces or divide by you hands if you prefer.
Top each scone with a bit of extra cheese.
Bake in oven for 10-15 mins with oven at 220⁰C on fan bake, until golden brown.
