Stef's Crunchy Chocolate Chip Cake

50g butter
2 Tbsp Chelsea Golden Syrup
1 egg
3/4 cup Chelsea Caster Sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
1 cup self raising flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup milk
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup crushed cornflakes
Melt butter and Chelsea Golden Syrup in microwave for 30 seconds. Add egg and Chelsea Caster Sugar and beat well. Sift cocoa, flour and baking soda into mixture, stir well. Add milk and mix well. Add cornflakes and chocolate chips. Pour mixture into a greased tin and fan bake at 200°C for 25 minutes.
Leave in tin for 5 minutes then turn out on to a plate and ice with chocolate icing while still warm.
