Serves
1
1kg Red Tomatoes
3/4 Cup Passionfruit Pulp
1 1/4kg Chelsea White Sugar
1 : Skin the tomatoes by plunging first into boiling water, then into cold, when the skins should slip off very easily.
Chop the tomatoes.
2 : Warm the Chelsea White Sugar and add it to the tomatoes and passionfruit pulp in large saucepan. Heat gently, stirring until sugar is dissolved then boil rapidly for about an hour, or until jam jells when tested on a cold saucer.
3 : Pour into hot sterilised jars and seal.
Very yummy jam that sets really well. I was hesitant about the combo so only made 1 batch to try it but will make more now. My daughter wants to turn it into fruit leather cause it's so good
This is exactly the same recipe that my grandmother-in-law made. With home grown tomatoes, it is extra deee-licious. :)
I don't think you need 1.25kg of sugar, 1 1/4 cups yes,
and you didn't say not get any tomato seeds in the jam.
mine looks bad, still very yummy.
You might want to amend your recipe
