Ingredients

    1 ½ cups plain flour
    ¾ cup Chelsea Soft Brown Sugar
    ½ cup bran cereal
    ¾ cup natural bran
    1 cup sultanas
    1 level teaspoon baking soda
    1 cup buttermilk
    1 egg
    ¼ cup treacle
    ½ cup plain oil

Method

    Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease a 12 hole muffin tray.

    In a large bowl combine flour, Chelsea Soft Brown Sugar, bran cereal, natural bran and sultanas and mix well. In another bowl combine baking soda and buttermilk and mix well, then whisk in egg, treacle and oil.

    Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and gently mix together. Spoon into muffin trays and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden and puffed.
