2011 Culinary Quill Awards

Chelsea is proud to sponsor the book award in the 2011 Culinary Quill Awards - one of the 6 categories awarded.  The book finalists (listed below) were all of a very high calibre.

Martin Bosley for Martin Bosley; Al Brown for Go Fish; Ginny Grant, Kathy Paterson & Lauraine Jacobs for The NZ Vegetable Cookbook, Annabel Langbein for The Free Range Cook, Peta Mathias for Culinary Adventures in Marrakech; and Robert Oliver for Me'a Kai.

The awards were held in Nelson at the World of Wearable Arts Museum.  The dinner tables were set up in the middle of the car section of the museum shown below.

Other winners on the night were: “The Free Range Cook” on TVNZ wins Annabel Langbein the Electronic & Digital Quill sponsored by Samsung.

 The Cuisine magazine “Fresh Approach” spring cover published in September 2010 wins Fiona Smith the Visual Quill sponsored by Regal Marlborough Salmon.

The Tui Flower Recipe Writing Quill goes to Janet Dunn for “Mincing Words” published in the December 2010 edition of NZ House & Garden.

 The NZ Venison-sponsored Culinary Quill for Journalism has gone to Denise Irvine for “On the eaten track” in the Waikato Times’ New Year’s Day 2011 edition.

Rose Carr ’s “Healthy Habits That Could Be Harming You” published in the November 2010 Healthy Food Guide Magazine gains a special one-off Chief Judge’s Award.

Culinary Quill Awards chief judge is Australia’s Rita Erlich, who says she has been delighted by the quality of the entries over all categories.
