2. Travel via the wharf to see the wondrous Sugar Mountain in our raw store – where the raw sugar is first stored after it arrives by ship
3. At the Melt House we’ll show you the first stages of sugar production
4. We’ll take you back in time to show you why this beautiful site was chosen over 130 years ago and visit the Pan Station you’ll learn about the last stages of sugar production
5. Lastly, you’ll get to taste some of our delicious syrups – yum!

The full factory tour is one hour long. The mini tour takes 20-25 minutes.

We have a range of ticket types available from $10 to $70. Please click on Chelsea Factory Tour or Mini Tours button to see all the pricing options

The maximum number is 18 people. Mini tours maximum is 19 people, babies included!

For health and safety reasons the minimum age is 5 years and each child under 12 years must be accompanied by an adult. Babies carried in front packs or under 5's are NOT permitted on the full factory tour. There are 80 stairs to walk up and down through the factory, so everyone must be able to walk unaided. We have a mini tour (train ride) suitable for under 5's and those less mobile.

You will be fully immersed walking through our working factory floor, and travel around our site on the Chelsea Bay Train. You will learn how raw sugar arrives at Chelsea and becomes the final product in our supermarkets. Learn about the history of the Chelsea site; taste test our delicious syrups and see our wondrous sugar mountain!

You must be able to walk unaided. No walking sticks, wheelchairs, walkers, crutches are allowed in the factory. There is a total of 80 stairs to walk up and 80 down on the tour (maximum 33 in a row). If part of your group is unable to do the full tour then our mini tour will be perfect!

Everyone on the tour must wear long sleeved top, long pants/tights, and flat-soled, enclosed shoes. This includes schools with uniform. Basically your skin must be covered. We will provide your safety gear which includes a pink hi-vis vest, hairnet, pink helmet and safety glasses.

Sorry no cameras or phones are permitted on the tour due to safety reasons. We have free lockers available for your belongings (you select a pin code to lock)
