U can please some people sometimes but u cant please people all the time ive known nz to have good home recipes and ive never had any complaints about our food other countries food dont quite make it like our country 5 star 4 me
This not caramel square at all! That will teach me for trying a new recipe, AND not reading the reviews first. Very disappointed in the cakey base.
I agree with previous comments. The base is definitely like a cake base, chocolate-flavoured and not biscuity as I recall true caramel slice - so not like the picture depicts. I won't be using this recipe again.
Also please add to my review that the picture above does not resemble this recipe, the base is very chocolatey
Didn't see that this hadn't been tested by Chelsea prior to starting to make it-then saw the reviews ! So best thing is that the base gets 10 minutes baking prior to putting the caramel onto the base to bake again. Its really delicious and cuts well ,I would make this again
This recipe was very poor. The Base came out like a cake and was not at all satisfactory or how I remember the caramel square that I used to make for my family. I was very disappointed and won't be using this recipe again.
