It was also immensely helpful to be told 1 cup of butter = 225 grams. Too much flour!! Is 4 cups a misprint?Biscuits were of course too crumbly - I have made biscuits for years and never had a problem. First time using this recipe so didn't want to amend it.

I've got to 2 cups of flour and it's really dry. All other ingredients were spot on. Ended up putting in beaten egg to hold mixture and stuck to 2 cups of flour.

Try mixing in a egg to this recipe, should hold biscuits together
Dissolve the baking soda in the milk. Place sugar, butter, golden syrup, baking soda (dissolved in milk) on the stove in a medium saucepan. Heat slowly to melt butter, stirring occasionally, then remove from heat. Add flour and sultanas.
Roll into small balls and press with a fork, dipped in flour to help stop mixture sticking.
