I used plain flour & baking powder, and added 1/2 cup of raisins for extra flavour & texture (any dried fruit could be used). I also added roughly 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon. Not sure where/when the 2 drops of vanilla essence were meant to be added as this is not stated in the recipe. I didn't include this and it was fine. Will use this recipe as a base for future pudding experiments. No need to purchase some of Aunt Betty's puddings, this is a perfect replacement!, approved=true, user_name=Rochelle, hs_createdate=1743839819595, rating_new__1_5_=4, id=26048272427}, {comment_text=Great base recipe. Maybe I’ll use maple syrup like someone else did and see how that goes. However in saying that use Chelsea recipes a lot. This recipe took minutes to make and worked really well. My microwave is a 1900 watts and the inner sponge came out a nice texture after the recommended time. Syrup yummy! Served with custard. Went down really well with the troops., approved=true, user_name=JA MacVeigh UK, hs_createdate=1702249882874, rating_new__1_5_=5, id=11175627646}, {comment_text=This was fabulous.
