Method
Melt the Tararua Butter or margarine in a small saucepan. Add the Edmonds Standard Grade Flour and stir with a wire whisk for 1 minute.
Remove from heat and whisk in the Meadow Fresh Original Milk. Return the saucepan to heat and stir until the sauce thickens.
Season to taste with salt and freshly ground black pepper and add the grated cheese. Stir until the cheese melts.
Note: This sauce can also be made in the microwave.
This sauce is delicious over cauliflower and broccoli, beans, peas, carrots or a big mixed vegetable combination.
Frequently asked questions
Can I make cheese sauce Gluten Free?
Yes, you can. Just substitute the same volume of standard flour for Gluten Free flour.
