Think you need a very small loaf tin as when mixing this up I could see it wasn’t going to fill my usual loaf tin that I usually use so I actually add more ingredients which seemed to have worked also I upped the amount on spices ( only because we like spices & could see this was going to have not much flavour)

This is a lovely recipe, with lovely flavours, very runny but easily poured into an average sized loaf tin and it stays fresh for ages

I’m a little disappointed. The mixture is runny, which is ok if it cooks well. I found it only rose to about an inch high, I used a loaf tin I use with all my date loafs which are beautiful. Does this require a small loaf tin? Flavour is ok.
Pre-heat oven 190°C. Line a loaf tin with baking paper.
In a large microwave-proof bowl or saucepan, melt the Tararua Butter and Chelsea Golden Syrup together.
Add egg and Chelsea Soft Brown Sugar, mix well, then add all other dry ingredients except the Edmonds Baking Soda.
Mix the Edmonds Baking Soda with the Meadow Fresh Original Milk and stir in.
Pour into prepared loaf tin and bake for 30 - 40 minutes or until cooked (when a skewer inserted in the centre comes out clean with no fudgy crumbs attached).
