This is a lovely recipe, with lovely flavours, very runny but easily poured into an average sized loaf tin and it stays fresh for ages

I’m a little disappointed. The mixture is runny, which is ok if it cooks well. I found it only rose to about an inch high, I used a loaf tin I use with all my date loafs which are beautiful. Does this require a small loaf tin? Flavour is ok.

Great, easy recipe. I also added double the ground ginger and could have done a bit more (if you're a ginger lover). I also added about 3/4 cup walnuts. The mixture was quite runny, but baked into a nice moist loaf. Tastes great!

Preheat oven 190°C bake. Line a loaf tin (approx. 22cm x 12cm) with baking paper.
In a large microwave-proof bowl or saucepan, melt the butter andChelsea Golden Syrup together.
Add egg and Chelsea Soft Brown Sugar; mix well. Stir in all other dry ingredients except the baking soda.
Mix the baking soda with the milk and stir in.
Pour into prepared tin and bake for 30 - 40 minutes, or until cooked (when a skewer inserted in the centre comes out clean with no fudgy crumbs attached).
