Serves

125g butter
1/2 cup Chelsea Soft Brown Sugar (lightly packed)
1/2 cup Chelsea Caster Sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
1 egg
1 3/4 cups self-raising flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup chocolate chunks or chips
Preheat oven to 180°C and grease or line two baking trays with baking paper.
Beat butter, sugars and vanilla until creamed, add egg and beat until mixed.
Sift in flour and salt, mix until combined before stirring in the chocolate.
Roll heaped teaspoon sized balls of mixture and place on tray, press down lightly with a floured fork.
Bake for approx. 12 minutes. Makes 30 medium sized biscuits.
Tip: Substitute chocolate with Smarties or M&Ms.
I really love this recipe it's very easy to make. Like people said, adding white chocolate will be way better with flavors.
Really good recipe. Easy but tastes great. We added white chocolate chips which was really yum! PS: The cookies spread quite a lot when cooking, so make sure to give them plenty of space on the oven tray :)
I haven't tried this recipe but the ingredients are exactly the same as the Chelsea Sugar recipe called "Chocolate Chip Biscuits"
I am 13 years old and a master baker, this is an easy recipe to bake that tastes good and is easy to customize.
This recipe is soooo easy, fun and delicious! When I am looking for a recipe I go looking straight into Chelsea sugar recipes! I love it so much, I even get a monthly email :) really love it and recommend it!

They tasted good but this recipe only made 14 small ones for me and it said it would make 30 medium ones
Ended up quite a dry dough thats unrollable - but once the whole dough is done, just add a small capful of milk and its perfect :)
I followed the recipe word by word (and am an experienced baker). The dough was extremely dry and flakey, the cookies were dry hunks of flour- a complete waste of time and ingredients :-(
I have no idea why so many 5 stars on this feed, I can only assume that the recipe has been altered?
CHELSEA SUGAR: Hi there, sorry to hear that these cookies didn't turn out well for you. We haven't altered the recipe.
I've made this recipe 3 times in 3 weeks. Love this recipe! Nice and soft in the middle and crunchy on the outside. Trying pieces of chopped up white chocolate tonight should be good. I also like to leave mine another extra 2 minutes sometimes if i want nice fully crunchy ones but awesome recipe definitely won't change it.
I finally made the perfect cookies with this recipe! I'm so stoked. I've trialled and tested so many others but this one is my favourite. If you're looking for a chewy cookie recipe then this is the one.
Seriously? There were ingredients that were not even in the method and when I added everything together nothing worked.
Wow. These cookies are possibly the BEST cookies I've EVER tasted. I'm sorry to say this, but I am a yr 7 myself and I don't agree with the people who say it's too sweet. It's not for me!!! :) I say they are DELICIOUS.
Amazing so easy and delicious only thing I recommend not to do is put 1/2 cup of caster sugar I just put 1/2 cup of brown sugar because for me it tastes to sweet with both for me. By the way I'm 11 and as a kid sugars great for me so it's saying something for me saying it's to sweet.
the chocolate chip cookies turned out really well but i did alter the recipe a bit. If you use this recipe, i recommend that you use one whole cup of chocolate chips instead of half a cup.
So quick & easy and the cookies are delish!! My new fave choc chip recipe. The dough is also too hard to resist so let's just say some of the batch didn't quite make it to the oven...
Taste a little too eggy for me. I prefer cookies with out the egg. Edmunds with the condensed milk will always be my favourite I think.
