Serves

125g butter, softened
1/2 cup Chelsea White Sugar (113g)
2 Tbsp Chelsea Golden Syrup
1 1/2 cups Edmonds Standard Grade Flour (225g)
1 tsp Edmonds Baking Powder
1/2 cup chocolate chips (100g)
Preheat oven to 180°C bake and line two large baking trays with baking paper.
Cream the butter and Chelsea White Sugar until pale and fluffy. Beat in the Chelsea Golden Syrup.
Sift in the flour and baking powder. Stir to combine, then add the chocolate chips and mix well to form a dough. The mixture is a little crumbly but you should be able to form it into balls with your hands.
Roll into balls and place on prepared trays. Press down with a fork (the mixture doesn't spread much on cooking).
Bake for 9-10 minutes, until golden brown and crispy.
Very quick to make had no eggs so great to use golden syrup.. in oven now.. out now and looking and smelling delicious
These are our new family favorite. Quick and easy. I also like to add my own twist to these I use dried almond slices or coconut slices, macadamia nuts normally some sort of nut and extra chocolate chips plus chocolate buttons in the mix make the cookies in a double batch so you don't run out to fast and I do one tray pressed with a fork and one tray pressed with an extra chocolate button on the center mmm yum
Not impressed. After all the ingrediants were combined, it turned to like a crumbly texture, needed 2 small splashes of milk. It says to bake for 9 minutes, well i had mine in for 20, and they were still practically raw. Wouldnt expand or even brown in the slightest. When I ate them, they were still very soft and more or less raw, but nonetheless, edible. I will never be baking these again, even as a last resort. Recipe was clearly not tested properly
Very dry and hard to roll into a ball so I added some almond milk. The mixture was much better in consistency after that. They seem to take much longer than 9minutes to cook too. Haven’t tasted them yet, but I have a feeling that there are recipes out there that look and taste better.
There are delicious!!
I would recommend not putting all the amount of sugar in but it’s really personal preference. A lot of people say the dough is to hard but I used margarine and these turned out absolutely perfect.
Easy recipe for the kids to make. As i didnt have golden syrup or chocolate chips. put in honey and rasins. came out like shortbread with rasins in. kids love it.
Without adding half a cup of milk you literally end up with a bowl of yellow flour. With milk you get a biscuit mix. Perhaps they forgot to add a step?
These turned out perfect even though I didn't have enough butter so used oil in lieu of half the butter, using 62g of butter and only half the amount of oil needed for the rest of (30g instead of another 62g) the mixture was a bit dry so I added a little milk until it was doughy enough. They are quite sweet but that makes them last longer as I wouldn't eat as many! Thanks, turned out great though.

Mixture way too dry. Added 1/4 cup milk after reading comments. Took about 20mins to cook and the middle still a bit uncooked. Dont taste that great, taste like flour. Do not recommend.
Nice recipe. A little bit dry, so I added more golden syrup and it turned out like regular dough. Slightly crispy edges, soft, chewy inside. Perfect.
I doubled the recipe and they were perfect. Make sure you really cream the butter and sugar. The end mixture should be soft and easily able to be rolled into balls without being sticky.
The result is a nice crispy biscuit.
I have made this many times and it is the best and easiest chocolate chip biscuit recipe ever. Even ones with eggs don't taste this good. Everyone I share them with love them.
Perfect recipe /mixture not dry at all, I also always take tray out oven every 5 mins and drop on beach to flatten (knocks the air out of them) that's because I like them thin.
There were a few faults with this recipe unfortunately, it was very dry at the end due to lack of moisture and I had to add a 1/4 cup of milk to fix this. It also took longer than 9 minutes to cook so be prepared for any mistakes to come!
I added probably two tablespoons of milk as mixture was dry, they have formed well and look perfect on the drying rack... now for the taste test.
These cookies are bit dry and overly sweet second batch i added 1/4 cup more butter and reduced sugar by 1/4 much preferred
great put a cup of flour and half a cup of coconut did half chocolate chip and half cranberry turned out so good will make again
I normally would not comment on a recipe unless it was outstanding but this one is the opposite, it’s literally a bowl of flour, you need about 1/4-1/2 cup of liquid to loosen the mixture without eggs. Only got 1 star because you have to leave at least one to comment
Oh my gosh so yummy!! Our toddler loves them and so do we. I used Maple Syrup instead of Golden Syrup and delicious.
Turned out perfectly. Moist and tasty. I needed an extra 5 mins cause centre slightly under done but then was great.
Highly recommend.
We had no eggs in the house and what an amazing result! We also substituted the butter for Olivani and worked well. Thanks to Chelsea Sugar for yet another great recipe.
Forgot the milk. Add the milk and the butter or else it is really dry and will not stick it together.
Followed the recipe exactly how it said and it was still really dry. Really hard to roll into balls as it would break into little pieces. Mixture tasted good uncooked through
This is the best chocolate chip cookies recipe ever. I've baked this so many times and they don't keep in the jar for more than 2 days. Easy to make and very tasty. I add some white chocolate drops in it as well......yummy.
Should give it a go if you haven't yet!!!!! You won't be disappointed.....trust me.☺
Not sure if butter needed to be soft or wasn't creamed properly but mixture was dry. They still turned out yummy!
These cookies were so yummy, we used white chocolate and dark chocolate. which made it even more tasty. That's why i gave it five stars. :)
Great chocolate chip cookies. I substituted the flour for gluten free self raising flour and they worked great.
Not sure if your golden syrup is a different consistency to some but I found the mixture too dry .... But a couple of tablespoons of milk seemed to do the trick.
