- ½ cup Chelsea Caster Sugar
- ½ tsp vanilla essence

- 1 ¾ cups self-raising flour

- ½ cup chocolate chunks or chips
Additional tips
Substitute chocolate with Smarties or M&Ms.

I followed the recipe word by word (and am an experienced baker). The dough was extremely dry and flakey, the cookies were dry hunks of flour- a complete waste of time and ingredients :-(I have no idea why so many 5 stars on this feed, I can only assume that the recipe has been altered?CHELSEA SUGAR: Hi there, sorry to hear that these cookies didn't turn out well for you. Method
Preheat oven to 180°C and grease or line two baking trays with baking paper.
Beat butter, sugars and vanilla until creamed, add egg and beat until mixed.
Sift in flour and salt, mix until combined before stirring in the chocolate.
Roll heaped teaspoon sized balls of mixture and place on tray, press down lightly with a floured fork.
Bake for approx. 12 minutes. Makes 30 medium sized biscuits.
Additional tips
Substitute chocolate with Smarties or M&Ms.
