I love this recipe I make it all the time and put them in the freezer
Preheat oven to 180°C bake. Grease a loaf tin (approximately 22cm x 12cm) and line with baking paper.
Place dates, Chelsea White Sugar, butter and baking soda in a large bowl. Pour 1 cup of boiling water over the top and leave to cool for 10 minutes.
Sift in flour and baking powder. Mix until just combined, then transfer to prepared tin.
Bake for 40-50 minutes, until golden brown and a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean. Leave to cool in tin for 10 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack.
Mash the initial date mixture to soften and get more colour out.
