Im just about to make this again as Tamarillos in season and not too expensive. A Great Jam and the taste is unique. Quite high on sugar but there are no other recipes around, so I presume this is a tried and true.

Only had small tamarillos so used 9 and the jam was perfect. Before I put them in the water took the hard pips/seeds out , which are situated top and bottom of the inside next to the skin.

Good Recipie. I didn't read the instructions before I put the sugar. it was supposed to be put in at the end I put it in at the start very yummy though

Method
Cut fruit in half. Place in a large saucepan with the water. Bring to the boil. Remove tamarillo skins and return fruit to water. Simmer for 5 minutes. Mash fruit, add the Sugar and boil again for 10 minutes. Stir frequently and test for setting, then cool slightly.
Pour into sterilised jars and seal.

- 2 Tbsp Chelsea White Sugar
- ½ tsp finely grated lemon zest (optional)
- 1 cup Meadow Fresh Milk (or Soy/Rice milk) (250ml)
