Chocolate Chunk Oat Biscuits

1 1/2 cups Edmonds Standard Grade Flour
1 tsp Edmonds Baking Powder
1 tsp Edmonds Baking Soda
1/2 tsp salt
3 large ripe bananas (mashed)
3/4 cup Chelsea White Sugar
1 egg
1/3 cup Tararua Butter (80g), melted
Preheat the oven to 175°C bake. Line a 12 hole muffin tin with paper cases.
Sift together the Edmonds Standard Grade Flour, Edmonds Baking Powder, Edmonds Baking Soda and salt then set aside.
In a large bowl combine the bananas, Chelsea White Sugar, egg, and melted Tararua Butter. Fold in the flour mixture until only just combined.
Spoon evenly into muffin tin and bake 20-25 minutes until muffins spring back when gently pressed.
I loved these so much! They were light and fluffy, they rose beautifully and weren’t to sweet. I’m 12 and they were a piece of cake. My family all loves this even my little sister who is very picky and doesn’t like banana. I sprinkled a little bit of sugar on them to make the top crunchy. I would 100% recommend making this even if you aren’t a very experienced baker.
Sadly my muffins didn’t rise well and I think it’s due to the amount of bananas. They were moist but heavy
Decided to get rid of some bananas out of our freezer found your recipe it was so easy to make my wife loved them great recipe no sticking they came out of moulds very easily
fully recommend I will be making more
Absolutely love this recipe, this one's a keeper. So easy and quick, very minimal ingredients for a tasty cupcake. Works great as mini ones too. =)
So easy to make and they taste amazing. Winner in our household! Thanks for the recipe Chelsea Sugar :-)
Makes the most beautiful muffins ever. Might be because I made them Such an easy recipe anyone could follow and make. Would had give a 5 star but the recipe doesn’t make enough. Were all gone in half an hour
For the first time EVER the muffin didn't stick to the paper and came away like a proper one. Great tasting muffin and the house smelt devine.
Delicious and so easy. Pantry ingredients available always, no special items.
I added cinnamon and nutmeg for added delight.
I reduced the sugar to 125ml. I made this a few times. Easy to make and yummy. I am keeping this recipe. Thanks Chelsea :-)
Great recipe always works out, made so many times grandkids love them for school and they freeze well. Have added chocolate chips and walnuts.
These turned out lovely thank you. I just started getting into baking and these were the first thing I made :) thanks
Love love love this recipe! My family routinely leave 3 bananas uneaten so they will get these muffins in their lunch boxes - also throw in a handful of choc chips for extra deliciousness
This recipe makes delicious muffins! They're so quick and easy to make. I added an extra banana and they were super tasty. Will definitely keep this recipe around!
I baked these this morning before work. They turned out perfect and I had to have one immediately - yum! Like others I reduced the sugar down to 1/2 cup (never ending quest to reduce my sugar intake). They took 25 mins in my oven - were lightly browned on top and soft and delicious on the inside. Highly recommend :-)
The muffins were super tasty, moist, and super easy to make. They don't last long! I will make them again soon.
Good easy recipe, moist and light, don't bother adding any salt though as there is salt in the butter
Soooo good! I put lemon cream cheese frosting on top and made them even better! Will definitely use again.
Made these so many times now with my 4 year old this recipe is quick an easy and delicious, sometimes I add Cadbury milk chocolate on the top after I pull the muffins out an let it melt that really gives these muffin that extra sweet yummy taste.
Made these with my 4 year old son. He absolutely loved them and we both loved how easy the recipe was! Will definitely be making them again.
Great muffins overall. Cooked amazingly. The only thing was I had chunks of banana in the muffin (that was my mistake of not doing a good job of mashing) apart from that, these are some of the yummiest banana muffins I have tasted and 9.5/10 recommend.
This is my favorite muffin recipe. Never fails, always delicious. I like to add sultanas for a bit of variety.
I make this recipe all the time. My grandchildren love them. They are so quick and easy to make and always turn out great.
It was easy to make and quick to cook and I had to make them an hour before my child's party.
PS they were so yum.
Easy to make, I made it with the assistance of my 3 year old. It was fun and he loved the cupcakes. I used wholemeal flour and brown sugar, nice outcome.
I made this recipe with my aunty during lockdown and they were yum. Now going to make again today. Thank you for the recipe.
Such a quick and easy recipe! Less complicated than traditional banana cake. They turned out light, fluffy and moist with browned tops.
These muffins are delicious!! Easy recipe and moist. I have made them three times now and perfect every time.
This banana muffin recipe is the greatest. My muffins were the lightest I've ever made and tasted delicious.
The recipe is very easy to follow and I can highly recommend it.
Perfect for children to make during "Lockdown".
I love this recipe use this one every time, so quick and easy for a batch of muffins topped with chocolate icing sometimes I add walnuts or white chocolate buttons really naughty but so yummy thanks for sharing this recipe.
Great recipe, I doubled it to use up all my leftover bananas and replaced the butter with sunflower oil. Also chucked in some dark chocolate chips. Worked perfectly.
This recipe is incredible! It is very easy to make and the taste of the muffins is amazing! I rate this 10 out of 10! I recommend this to anyone wanting to make banana muffins!
So quick and easy to make, with a delicious banana flavour and perfect texture. This recipe is a keeper!
I have used a few different banana muffin recipes in the past but this one would have to be the best one yet. So quick & easy to make too :-)
My favourite go-to banana muffin recipe for GF ...can substitute feijoas at this time of year, and yes, 1/2 cup sugar more than enough.
So lovely... My picky 5 year old loved it and without any complain finished two of them quickly... She has never done that.. even with store bought .. adjusted the sugar to 1/2 cup... Still very sweet.
Made these but I forgot the egg and I used oil instead of butter they turned out ok but next time try to remember the egg and put slightly less sugar because the bananas have a lot of natural sweetness.
Comes out perfectly every time. I always add something extra like choc chip or overripe stone fruit and it still comes out moist. I adjust the sugar accordingly.
Yum! First time to make and turned out really well. Only had 2 bananas and like some others I reduced the sugar down to 1/2 cup. Still good. Had the natural sweetness of the banana without being caky sweet. I froze them to keep fresh for lunches. Still as good. Will definitely make again. I usually make a banana cake creaming butter and sugar but these were so easy!
Beautiful and so easy to make. I added 1/2 a cup of blueberries and swapped out 1/4 cup of plain flour for wholemeal and they were absolutely delicious.
These banana muffins were AMAZING. I'm eleven, and this is the easiest, best recipe I have tried so far. Personally, I added a cup of chocolate chips. The top also got nice and crisp. I recommend this recipe for all ages, as a great and easy activity.
Simple to make and absolutely delicious. I was short a qtr cup of plain flour so topped up with wholemeal flour. FAB
Excellent easy recipe that hasn’t failed me ( and I’m not much of a baker so that’s saying something). I’ve just cooked it again with some peach added and it was delicious. Thank you for sharing
this recipe was so great and easy to make!, I put some white chocolate drops in with the mixture as well and it tasted amazing! :)
I was really skeptical about this one but it turned out great. The cake batter was really thick even after adding an extra egg but wow that muffin was so sensational.
I use this recipe all the time and everyone just loves these muffins - so easy to make and quick - I add a lemon cream cheese icing - a big hit!
Fab muffins....lovely and moist. .easy to make..making another batch...would definitely recommend. ..
Really good, really easy, really delicious.
Was able to make them in less than 30 minutes.
Highly recommended.
Really great treat, I added approx 2tsp of cinnamon to the mixture, really nice touch! Super great will definitely make them again!! :) :)
First time using a gas oven and done to see if the oven works. According to the muffins which tasted yum it worked.
Never fail Banana Muffin recipe, I also add a small pottle of any yoghurt, keeps them fresh for longer.
Best banana cupcake recipe ever. Pop a piece of dark chocolate in the centre to melt - highly recommended.
Perfect recipe to use up bananas. Everyone loved 'em, also it's a quick easy recipe. Highly recommended.
Amazing recipe. The best muffins ever. Family loves them. I add a dash of vanilla essence, chia seeds and some choco chips.
I Love this recipe, so easy to make and muffins turn up beautiful and moist :-)
Ps. I only used 1/2 cup of sugar and its still lovely and enough sweetness.
This recipe is amazing. I have started baking these past two years and my baking always seems to fail, these muffins though turned out perfectly. Highly recommended!
Great go-to recipe, perfect every time. I make mini muffins and freeze them for lunchboxes, always good :)
Best moist muffins ever. Basic recipe to customize if wanted (add walnuts, oats or cinnamon), however it is just perfect and does not need any modifications.
I added a good handful of cranberries and sliced almonds. I left out the sugar from the mix and sprinkled a tiny amount of sugar over each muffin prior to baking. Absolutely delish.
Brilliant recipe, perfect fluffy yummy muffins every time. Super easy recipe!
I've been experimenting a little by adding, chia seeds and reducing the sugar down to 1/3 cup. They still come out sweet and my daughter loves them. Excellent for freezing too.
I have also starting making them with spelt flour and they come out just as yummy.
This recipe is fool-proof. I only mucked it up once when I forgot to add the baking soda and baking powder... worst mistake, will never do again. I got so frustrated with myself because I knew how amazing these muffins taste when baked properly, so it was such a disappointment. But I love these muffins! They are the best, they're nice and crispy on the outside and moist in the inside. You can make this recipe with 2 bananas (I find it's a better ratio - although I have made it with one and they still turned out great) I also love to add chocolate chips for a treat!
Easy. Everyone loved them. Only had 2 bananas but worked fine. Brilliant recipe - had requests to make twice as many next time

Made these this eve and omitted the butter and replaced with 1/3 cup of canola oil as butter is so expensive atm. I then topped with the chocolate icing recipe for the other banana muffin recipe. Muffins are so so moist and full of flavour! Couldn't have turned out better.
So good! Followed recipe exactly but used less sugar and they were still quite sweet enough. Will definitely have them on my repeat list Even size and lovely consistency....
My grandson is dairy free and i made these for him replacing the butter with 1/3 cup rice bran oil. I sprinkled raw sugar and cinnamon over the top before baking them. They were absolutely delicious and disappeared so fast. Next time I'll double the recipe!
Very tasty!! I make batches of these all the time and freeze them in plastic ziploc bags. They are so moist, springy and the best banana muffin recipe I've ever tried.
I needed a new Banana Muffin recipe, so tried this recipe and will be using it from now on.
Awesome recipe. Just so yummmmmmmmm!
These banana muffins are extremely easy to make and are light and moist. I add chocolate chips and they taste delicious!
Yum banana muffins, especially if sprinkled with brown sugar and cinnamon before cooking and add a little cinnamon to the dry ingredients!
Such a great banana muffin recipe. I only use 1/3 of a cup of sugar as bananas are already quite sweet and they are delicious.
These banana muffins taste amazing! and it looks great too! thank you I really recommend it. they are easy to make and quick too.
Added some chocolate chips into the recipe, and a dash of vanilla essence. The muffins came out spectacularly, very moist and delicious!
LOVE this recipe! they turned out SO moist! I also put a square of caramelo chocolate in each muffin because choc caramel and banana go great together!
Extremely lovely and easy to make muffins I have ever tried ! No fussy ingredients and instructions ....anyone can bake ! Thank you Chelsea !
Lovely, moist, golden muffins! Don't think that just because it's a simple recipe it's not all that special -- these are PERFECT.
Replaced the white sugar with exactly the same amount of brown sugar (I like the caramelly flavour alongside the banana).
I just ADORE this recipe!
It is quick and easy. You can have with or without icing.
Gives a true good sized dozen muffins
These muffins are quick and easy - and light and delicious. I added one teaspoon of cinnamon and baked them for 15 minutes in patty papers in a muffin tray. I'd suggest being careful not to overcook them or they could become dry. They would be great for school lunches.
soo yummy, first time making muffins from scratch only thing i did different was. I added 4 banana's and 3/4 cup of milk soooo moist and delicious
BEST BANANA MUFFINS EVER!!! Thanks for sharing I've been looking for a good recipe for ages. Light and fluffy-mmmm
Best Muffin recipe ever, just finished whipping up a double batch and they came out perfect as always, YUMMO!!!!
Great recipe to follow! Makes beautiful muffins, added small handful choc chips and did half coconut sugar and half white for the flavor. YUM!
not even out of the oven (so taste I cant be sure of) but they look amazing! fuss free and my 7 year old just threw them together in a few minutes! LOVE
