Serves
12
1 cup chopped fresh feijoas (275g)
75g Tararua Butter
2 eggs
3/4 cup Chelsea White Sugar (170g)
2 cups Edmonds Standard Grade Flour (300g)
2 tsp Edmonds Baking Powder
1/2 cup Meadow Fresh Original Milk (125ml)
Topping
2 Tbsp Chelsea Demerara Sugar
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Preheat oven to 200°C bake / 180°C fan bake. Line a 12-hole muffin tin with paper cases (or grease well).
Cut feijoas in half, scoop out flesh with a spoon and roughly chop until you have 1 full cup (or 275g).
Melt butter in a large heatproof bowl. Stir in feijoas, eggs and Chelsea White Sugar.
Add flour, baking powder and milk and fold in until just combined. Divide mixture evenly between muffin tin holes.
Mix Chelsea Demerara Sugar and cinnamon together to make topping. Spoon over muffins.
Bake for 15-20 minutes, until muffins are golden and spring back when lightly pressed.
Delicious flavour but both times I have made this recipe it’s as if they haven’t risen, unsure why. Thanks anyway Chelsea Sugar
Quick and easy - able to be made while cooking dinner to take to work the next day after being given feijoas from work! The circle of life haha. Super delicious, everyone loves them and I look like a great baker - but its really the great recipe.
Great recipe I changed it up a bit by adding some mixed spice and vanilla essence to the batter. Made these for my partner and toddler daughter I'm not a big fan of feijoa's myself but these were so yummy would make again.
Simple and delicious. I was scared I wouldn’t know how much milk to put in as it doesn’t specify a measurement. I splashed a bit of milk over the mixture and they came out perfect. The cinnamon goes really nicely with the feijoa.
Lemon feijoa cake was a winner- it was moist and delicious and ditto the muffins- now I know what to do when I am given buckets of feijoas. Thank you for the great recipes.

It was good but make sure not to add too much feijoa or else it will be too mushy and won’t cook well. Also I would recommend not adding the skin of the feijoa unless you like sour chunks in your muffin.
I loved them the texture and the taste was awesome and the cinnamon really gave it a kick, thank you for this recipe I LOVE FEIJOAS!!!!!!
The flavour was nice but it would be helpful to specify a measurement for the milk as many people would not know what the consistency of the mixture should be like.
Very quick to make. I made 6 large muffins & I added about a quarter cup of chocolate chips. They took 25 mins at 190. These are nice as they aren't overly sweet. Next time I will add a splash of vanilla extract.
I thought these were delish and very easy to make. My favourite part was the kick from the cinnamon.
Easy to make and tasty. Did use brown sugar, instead of white sugar, and cinnamon on top plus some cinnamon and mixed spice in mixture.
Simple and tasty recipe. First time making it and turned out marvellously. Highly recommend trying it. Will be adding this to my recipe collection : - )
Was a really easy recipe to make and delicious. I did not have enough fejoias so made it up with mashed banana. Only one problem. In the instruction can you state the oven temperature as to whether it is fan bake or not.
So easy to make, need to add more milk to make it easier to put into the muffin tin. The cake so moist, my family love it. Need to make more!!
This is an excellent recipe, so easy to make and delicious.
Note a tablespoon of grated fresh ginger mixed in with the Feijoas is a nice touch. Thanks.
Used this recipe and they turned out great! Nice and moist on the inside and sweet and crispy on the outside. I used less sugar and put coconut inside. Really good!
Outstanding muffins. I had my doubts about cooked feijoas but these are great. Freeze very well too. I have frozen the surplus feijoas whole, skin on, they peel easily when taken out for a while, and are just as good as fresh in muffins.
One of the easiest muffin recipes I've made. I used frozen feijoas. Skins included. Melted the butter and didn't add any milk. Put coconut sugar on top. Absolutely delicious. Will be using this recipe again with rest of my frozen feijoas.
Great recipe. I modified it slightly by using raw sugar and I halved the amount in the recipe. Also I try and sneak in wholemeal flour to all my muffins too so I added 1 cup white and 3/4 cup wholemeal. This makes the muffins a bit heavier in texture but they’re still really delicious and healthier too.
Probably the easiest muffin recipe I’ve used, I was skeptical of how they would turn out! But they were great, the whole household loved them and hubby even requested I make some for his workmates so he could be a hero, ha! I added butter and oats to the cinnamon sugar for a more crumble type topping.
